Vallée Blanche

The most famous off-piste descent in the world !

A guided descent of the world's most famous and longest off-piste descent. The Vallee Blanche is much more than just a ski descent. It is a journey through wild and pristine alpine peaks. An unforgettable trip into a world most people will never experience.

You will be  skiing for a long time and you must be fit enough for a hard day of skiing. In optimal conditions the  Vallee Blanche is like a red/black piste, however for 95% of the season it is much harder - if in any doubt please contact us before booking. Ideally you will have previously skied with guides/instructors who can vouch for your ability. If we are unsure we will ask you to attend a ski assessment with a guide/instructor prior to taking your booking.

Please note that we only advertise “open” trips when we are sure of good weather, so usually 3-4 days in advance. Follow us on Twitter (@AvalancheAcad) or Facebook (Avalanche Academy) for updates.

At up to 17km long (if skiing to Chamonix) the Vallee Blanche is a wild experience. If you enjoy skiing  off-piste, then this is a trip not to be missed.

Level of skiing: Skiing on glaciers requires caution, and you must be able to ski in control at all times.  If you are not an experienced off-piste skier please contact us to confirm current conditions.

Most of our trips to the Vallée Blanche are private guiding days. SNOWBOARDERS MUST DECLARE THEMSELVES ON BOOKING AND MUST BRING COLLAPSIBLE POLES.

NB: If the weather and conditions do not allow you will undertake a day of skiing elsewhere, such as Courmayeur.

Testimonials

I skied the Vallee Blanche with Stuart today and it was the best day I've had on skis for a long time. We went from Italy, as wind had closed the lift from Cham and had the most spectacular descent of the VB from that side, with hardly anyone else on it, a rare treat! Stuart made it a superb day for us all. His local knowledge was invaluable and he was great company as well. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.
